Following recent repairs to the throttle and steering wheel assemblies, the boat underwent a thorough testing phase today. All repairs appear to have been successful, with the throttle and steering functions operating smoothly. This ensures that the boat is fully functional and ready for continued use in our operations.
In addition to testing the boat, we conducted an inspection of the deployed targets. During the inspection, we discovered that the HDPE mesh target had flipped, leaving the 4L buoys on the upside. This was promptly corrected, and the target was returned to its proper orientation. We also noticed the early stages of biofouling on the mesh, which will be addressed in our upcoming maintenance schedule. The wooden target was found to be in good condition, with no visible issues or required repairs. However, due to the strong gusts experienced today, we decided to postpone the deployment of the second set of targets to ensure safety and optimal conditions for setup.
Despite these challenges, we are on track and prepared to proceed with the deployment of the additional targets as soon as weather conditions permit. Our team remains vigilant in monitoring and maintaining the integrity of all equipment and targets to support the ongoing success of our project.
